Head of the Department of Marine Ecology and Resources of the Marine Research Institute (IIM-CSIC) and visiting professor at University of Aveiro
Graham Pierce is a marine biologist, currently Head of the Department of Marine Ecology and Resources at Instituto de Investigaciones Marinas in Vigo. He is also a Visiting Professor at Univerity of Aveiro. Prior to moving to IIM in 2017, he worked at the University of Aberdeen in Scotland for over 30 years as well as holding a Marie Curie chair position at Instituto Español de Oceanografia during 2007-2010. His research is mainly related to marine fisheries and conservation, including studies on cephalopod and cetacean life history and ecology. He has co-authored around 280 scientific papers and has supervised or co-supervised approximately 50 PhD students.
