Professional activity since 1980 in the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, firstly contributing to the implementation and development of the agricultural insurance system in Spain and the management of its economic aid.

He has held the position of Counselor of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food in different Embassies of Spain, in Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, Morocco, Mauritania and Russia, for a total of 17 years.

As Director General of the General Secretariat of Fisheries, he has held the position between 2008 and 2012, and currently he has held it since 2018.

The experience accumulated in these positions focuses on the areas of national and community aid management, planning and coordination of structural funds, marketing and traceability, cooperation and international relations and administrative and personnel management
