Economic analyst at the European Commission, Directorate-General Maritime Affairs & Fisheries, Unit A.4 – Economic Analysis, Markets and Impact Assessment
Javier Villar Burke joined the European Commission in 2008 where he work in several units dealing with the response to the financial and sovereign crisis. In 2018, he moved to the Directorate General for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries contributing to the economic analysis of the fisheries sector and the Blue Economy in general. He has participating in the coordination and the production of the EU Blue Economy Report. Before joining the Commission, Javier worked for two years in a Spanish consulting firm and two more years for the Galician Institute of Statistics. He studied Economics and Business Administration in Santiago de Compostela and specialised in European Economics in the College of Europe.
