His professional career at innovation management began in the Innovation and Technology Transfer Office of the University of Santiago de Compostela in 1989.
He works in public administration and also in business. His professional career in the private world includes work as an agricultural engineer and later as innovation manager in a biotechnology company. He also collaborated with several consulting companies.
In public administration, he was part of a team in the R&D General Direction of the Ministry of Industry (Galician government), acting as a solicitor of the Galician R&D program. He also collaborated with the National Assessment and Planning Agency (ANEP), where he evaluated projects in Technology Transfer from 2006 to 2015.
From 2006 to 2010, he was the Associated Director of the Innovation and Technology Transfer Office of the University of Santiago de Compostela. Since 2010 he became Director of Technology Transfer and Entrepreneurship, specialized office of University of Santiago for managing the research results, its protection, promoting proof-of-concept projects, and commercialization both through licensing and creation of academic spin-off.
